Privacy policy

The Mon Chat Peut application (the “Application”) is published by Dabi Keita (the “Publisher”, “we”, “us”).

This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store and protect the personal data of users (the “User”, “you”) in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR) and applicable legal obligations.

By using the Application, you accept the practices described below.

1. Data we collect

We only collect the data needed for the Application to work.

1.1. Data you provide voluntarily

  • Name or nickname (if provided)
  • Email address (for account creation and recovery)
  • Information about your cats (name, age, weight, neutering, breed, habits, feeding history, portions)
  • Photos or images you upload (if you choose to provide them)
  • App preferences and settings

1.2. Data collected automatically

Technical data

  • Device model
  • Operating system
  • Technical identifiers (Firebase Installation ID, anonymized Device ID)
  • IP address (anonymized / stored temporarily)
  • App version
  • Operational logs

Usage data, collected through Firebase Analytics:

  • Screens viewed
  • Features used
  • Frequency of use
  • Anonymized performance statistics

1.3. Subscription data

Handled by RevenueCat:

  • Apple/Google transaction ID
  • Subscription type (monthly, yearly, etc.)
  • Status (active, expired, trial period)

Important: we never have access to your bank or payment details, which are handled solely by Apple/Google.

1.4. Security data

  • Sign-in events
  • Suspicious attempts
  • Actions that may indicate abuse (anti-fraud)

1.5. Data processed by AI

If you use the artificial intelligence features:

  • Text sent to the AI (e.g. a description of a food)
  • Your cat's profile data, if the AI needs to take it into account

This data may be processed temporarily by the AI provider's servers, but it is never used to train a model or to build an external database.

2. Why we process your data

We use your data for:

Core operation of the Application

  • Creating and managing your account
  • Cloud sync
  • Managing your cats and their tracking
  • Nutritional analysis and food estimates
  • Personalized notifications
  • Assessing dietary needs

Improving the Application

  • Anonymized statistics
  • Bug fixes
  • Performance analysis
  • Adding new features

Security

  • Detecting fraudulent behavior
  • Protecting against attacks
  • Preventing abuse

Managing subscriptions

  • Verifying purchases
  • Checking premium status
  • Applying the rights that come with a subscription

3. Legal basis for processing (GDPR)

In accordance with the GDPR, our processing is based on:

  • Performance of a contract: running the Application, creating your account, sync.
  • Consent: analytics, AI, notifications.
  • Legitimate interest: maintaining security, preventing fraud.
  • Legal obligation: Apple/Google billing, handling official requests.

4. Sharing data with third parties

Your data is never sold.

We only share data with the service providers we need:

4.1. Firebase (Google)

  • Hosting user data
  • Analytics & Crashlytics
  • Image storage
  • Authentication

Data may be transferred to the United States under the Data Privacy Framework.

4.2. RevenueCat

  • Managing in-app purchases
  • Checking subscription status
  • No access to bank details

4.3. AI provider

(e.g. OpenAI, Google Gemini, etc.)

  • Temporary processing of the data sent to the AI
  • Not used to train models when the option is turned off

4.4. Public authorities

When required by law (fraud, legal requisition).

5. How long we keep data

We keep:

  • Account data: for as long as the account exists
  • Cat data: until you delete it
  • Technical logs: 30 to 180 days
  • Subscription data (RevenueCat): as long as needed for tracking
  • Firebase backups: between 7 and 30 days
  • AI data: usually a few minutes to a few hours, depending on the provider

When an account is deleted, most data is deleted immediately, unless a legal obligation requires otherwise.

6. Data security

We put in place:

  • encryption of data in transit (HTTPS)
  • encryption on Firebase servers
  • secure authentication
  • strict access control
  • regular security audits

However, no system is 100% secure. We cannot guarantee the complete absence of flaws, attacks or intrusions.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

You have the following rights:

  • Right of access
  • Right to rectification
  • Right to erasure (right to be forgotten)
  • Right to restriction of processing
  • Right to object
  • Right to data portability
  • Right to withdraw your consent
  • Right to lodge a complaint with the CNIL (the French data protection authority)

We reply within 30 days at most.

8. Deleting your account

You can delete your account directly in the Application.

This results in:

  • deletion of your profile
  • deletion of your cats' data
  • deletion of the data stored in Firebase

Some necessary data (e.g. Apple/Google purchase data) may be kept for legal reasons (billing, security).

9. Transfers outside the European Union

Some data may be transferred to the United States through:

  • Firebase (Google): covered by the EU-US Data Privacy Framework
  • RevenueCat: GDPR compliant
  • AI: compliance depends on the provider

We do not store data outside GDPR-compliant services.

10. Cookies and trackers

On mobile, we use SDKs that work like cookies:

  • Firebase Analytics
  • Firebase Crashlytics
  • RevenueCat
  • The AI provider's SDK (where applicable)

You can turn off part of this collection in the Application settings.

11. Changes to this Policy

We may change this Privacy Policy to:

  • reflect new laws
  • add new features
  • strengthen security

If there is a major change, you will be notified.
